Outback Truckers, Season 5
Wednesdays at 7:30pm AEST from June 12 until September 4
Epic roads, monster loads and more dirt madness, Outback Truckers is back for another classic season. Australia is a land of extremes and the Outback Truckers face those extremes on every job they do. Tropical storms can turn a dry dirt road into a massive bog in hours. Get stuck and it can take weeks to get out. Desert heat can cook a man and his engine in minutes. Make a wrong move and you can end up dead. Long distances challenge a driver’s concentration and stamina; some jobs require over 4000 kilometres behind the wheel. Fall asleep in charge of a 100 tonne road train travelling at 100km per hour and you’re a high speed bomb!
Heavy Rescue: 401, Season 3
Weekdays at 4pm AEST from June 3 until June 20
The men and women who fight to keep North America’s busiest highway rolling are hitting the road for a new winter and face new battles in this latest series. When a raging river destroys a bridge and strands a dump truck, it forces Ross’ Towing to embark on a heavier form of heavy recovery than they’ve ever attempted. New companies and faces bring new stories, while storms and freak accidents attack the 401, pushing first responders, Heavy Rescue crews and maintenance teams to their limits – because closure is not an option.
Highway Thru Hell, Season 7
Weekdays at 3pm AEST from June 3 until June 25
As they gear up for another winter, this series kicks off with a rare chance for the heavy rescue teams to get together and talk about the highs and lows of one of the world’s toughest jobs. After years of keeping the highways open with some of the most modern heavy wreckers, Jamie Davis is staking his future on ‘old iron’. Under pressure to reduce costs and stay competitive, this winter he and his crew are hoping they can tackle some of the toughest jobs using an ageing, rebuilt fleet. From massive mudslides, to white-out snowstorms, monsoon rains to dangerous rockslides, the heavy rescue teams will be tested by brutal, relentless conditions and by some of the most spectacular wrecks.
Truck Night In America, season 2
Saturdays at 5:30pm AEST from June 1 until August 24
It’s a new season of monster competition as both drivers and machines face a dangerous and demanding test of ingenuity and skills. This challenge features a diverse line up of vehicles, including a 1986 Suzuki Samurai and a 2008 Lexus, along with special guest appearances from NASCAR Champions Kyle, Kurt Busch, and others.
American Restoration: Truck Edition
Wednesday June 12 at 8:30pm AEST
Rick Dale is travelling the country looking to restore America one project at a time. This time around Rick has his eyes set on a long forgotten 1956 Ford pick-up. Nick, a grape-farmer from California, bought the beat up pick-up when he was 16 but never got around to completing the restoration because his family and farm came first. With a tight budget and just 30 days to restore the pick-up, Rick and his team work around-the-clock overcoming one challenge after another to bring this American classic back to life.
Trucks Transformed: Custom Culture
Wednesday June 12 at 9:30pm AEST
America’s growing community of truck customisers are going to never-imagined levels of performance, utility and just plain awesomeness. How far are they willing to go? This special features far-out custom trucks like rally racer Ken Block’s snow-conquering RaptorTrax and drifting champion Vaughn Gitten Jr.’s “ultimate fun-haver.” Plus, there’s a guide to how customisation has come to the masses on budgets from small to huge. We’ll show you just how the pickup game got picked up to the extreme.
Born Tough: Inside The Ford Factory
Wednesday June 19 at 8:30pm AEST
This one-hour special event lifts the veil on the operations at The Ford River Rouge Complex, where Ford’s F-Series pickups – the best-selling vehicle in American for over 40 years – come to life. Cameras go behind the scenes and follow the high-tech descendants of Henry Ford’s ground-breaking assembly lines. From stamping raw aluminium to the body shop to final assembly, we will reveal how a culture of manufacturing innovation has kept Ford trucks on top.
Wednesday June 19 at 9:30pm AEST
Two top truck builders compete for a sale as they find, restore, and put their personal stamp on two classic trucks. Each shop must design with the buyer in mind and, with limited direction, blend their craftsmanship and style with personalised details that will gain the buyer’s favour. These shops are putting it all on the line, as only one truck will be good enough to earn the sale.
Wednesday June 26 at 8:30pm AEST
Since their inception at the turn of the last century, pickup trucks have been essential to the American way of life, and manufacturing titans such as Ford, Dodge and Chevrolet have engaged in brutal competition to outsmart, outmanoeuvre and outlast one another. In this 2-hour special, automotive experts, designers and historians weigh in on the most influential innovations in the truck world over the past 120 years.
